The Enchanted Rose

After designing the stained-glass interpretation of the Enchantress, the inspiration for this accompanying Enchanted Rose design struck shortly after. This design drew inspiration from not only the Enchanted Rose from Disney's Beauty and the Beast and stained glass art, but also from Dior's "Junon" gown and the Glinda "Bubble Gown" from Wicked on Broadway designed by Susan Hilferty.

Like its sibling piece, the Enchantress, this gown is made from two shades of satin and hand painted to resemble stained glass art. This design features wire sewn inside of the black binding around the edges of each “petal” and "leaf" to achieve the look of a blooming rose. This gown was self patterned and made from satin, binding, wire, and acrylic paint. Along with the Enchantress, this costume was a finalist in the 2019 D23 Mousequerade.
